Brioche de Maman

Today I woke up from the deliciously sweet smell of something baking.

I wasn’t sure exactely what it was… and when I went to check in the kitchen I had a big smile.

My mom made Brioche, one of the most popular french pastries known in the world.

So here we go, I want to share this lovely recipe with you:

Ingredients:

  • 400gr of flour

  • 60gr of soft butter

  • 50gr of sugar

  • 3 eggs

  • 4 tsp of crème fraiche

  • 5gr of baking yeast

  • 1 pinch of salt

Directions:

  1. Let the sugar melt in some Table Spoons of water, filter the flour, add salt, soft butter, crème fraiche, the egg yolk of 2 eggs and the beaten egg white.

  2. Mix the ingredients while wetting up with the sugar-syrup. And add the yeast diluted in water. Mix the dough a little more, until soft.

  3. Put the dough in a terrine, cover it up with a cloth and let it rise.

  4. Stretch out the dough, until it gets the shape of a Brioche Bread and put it on the sheet steel of the oven. Mark the Brioche with a couple of diagonal incisions. Then baste it with the last egg yolk. Finally let it bake on the oven for about 25-30 min. On 220 degrees celsius.

  5. Enjoy it with butter and jam or butter only!

Bon Appétit!
