Low-carb Mango Lassie with Chia

For those who are not aware of what exactly a “Lassi” is; it’s a popular traditional yogurt-based drink from India. You can compare it to “Ayran” in Turkey, the people drink it mostly combined with spicy dishes, because it’s milk proportion absorbs the spicy effect.

Lassi’s are enjoyed chilled, as a hot-weather refreshment.

If you like the famous Indian Mango Lassie, you can also enjoy this low carb Mango-Chia yogurt.

It tastes amazing, for breakfast as well as for dessert.

Ingredients:

  • 400 gr of natural Yogurt (for example: greek yogurt)

  • 4 tbsp of Chia seeds

  • 2 tbsp of a sugar substitute

  • 1 big Mango ( or a can of mangos, but I suggest to take a fresh one!)

Directions:

Mix the yogurt with Chia seeds and sugar substitute and leave to simmer for about 2 hours. (A little bit less, is fine as well!)

The mango - either fresh or from the can - puree, sweeten with Xylit, and fill in jars.

Mix the Yogurt with the Chia seeds well, and after that serve in jars.

That’s it, so easy and delicious!

Enjoy your Mango Lassi!
